METHODS OF ANTI-RABIC IMMUNOGLOBULIN PRODUCTION
Background: Rabies belongs to the group of dangerous infectious diseases of humans and animals, marked by damage to the central nervous system and utter mortality, and is one of the most prevalent zooanthroponoses. And in Kazakhstan, rabies is enzootic in more than 20% of the territory.
Purpose of the study: Analysis of literature sources on topics connected to methods for acquiring rabies immunoglobulin from different animal producers and comparison of their effectiveness.
Search strategy: The search for sources was carried out in such databases as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. The search depth was 61 years from 1959 to 2020, and as this is an ancient disease, it has consequently been thoroughly investigated by scientists around the world. Twenty literature sources provide crucial conceptual information on this topic. Inclusion criteria: literature reviews, original articles; publications in open access with full text in English and Russian. Exclusion criteria: publications of low methodological quality, conference materials. 53 full-text, critically evaluated papers and four statistical office reports and data were selected for examination.
Results and conclusions: Obtaining rabies immunoglobulin from the serum of a horse inoculated against rabies is a successful and economical procedure. But at the present, nanobody therapy is regarded as a very promising solution for the treatment of complex viral infections.
