Introduction: Dermatological problems and increased skin sensitivity necessitate the development of safe and stable cosmetic products based on natural ingredients [1,2].
The aim of the study was to develop a cosmetic cream formulation based on calendula CO₂ extract, to comparatively evaluate experimental samples, and to substantiate the quality specifications for the finished product.
Materials and Methods: Five experimental cosmetic cream samples were developed, differing in the composition of the emulsion base. The samples were evaluated for organoleptic, physicochemical, and microbiological properties.
Results: Based on the combined performance indicators, sample No. 4 was deemed optimal, characterized by a uniform consistency, good spreadability, stability, and acceptable consumer properties [3,4]. Based on the data obtained, a quality specification for a cosmetic cream based on calendula CO₂ extract was developed.
Discussion: The advantages of sample No. 4 were associated with the optimal ratio of emulsion base components, phase stability, and a combination of acceptable consumer properties. The findings support the relevance of a comprehensive assessment of organoleptic, physicochemical, and microbiological parameters when standardizing cosmetic products containing plant-derived CO₂ extracts.
Conclusion: The feasibility of producing a stable cosmetic cream using calendula CO₂ extract was established, and its quality indicators were substantiated.
