Epidemiology of malignant neoplasms.

Role of locoregional methods of treatment of primary liver cancer

Resume: Oncological diseases remain a serious problem of the healthcare system, occupying the 2nd place in the structure of morbidity and mortality of the population, second only to cardiovascular diseases [1]. Despite the actions made to prevent and treat malignant neoplasms (MN), the number of new registered cases in the Republic of Kazakhstan (RK) in 2022 compared to 2021 increased by 7.7% (35079 in 2022 vs. 32572 in 2021). The indicator of morbidity per 100 thousand population was 179.9 (2021 – 170.3) with a growth rate for the year of 5.6% [2]. In the structure of organ and system damage, the greatest increase in morbidity was recorded in thyroid tumours (29.3%), leukaemia (24.2%), MN of bones and articular cartilage (+24.1%) and prostate gland (22.9%). The growth of MN, along with other factors, is to a certain extent due to the increase in the life expectancy of the population.
