Abstract: The article analyzes the morphological, ecological and pharmacological characteristics of Scutellaria sieversii Bunge occurring in the flora of the Ili Alatau based on scientific data. The species distribution, ecological adaptability and the presence of biologically active compounds determining its medicinal value are considered. A comparative analysis of floristic and ecological sources was carried out to assess the stability of natural populations and the bioresource potential of the plant. Taking into account the phytochemical properties typical for the genus Scutellaria, the prospects of using this species in the development of phytopreparations are substantiated. As a result, Scutellaria sieversii is scientifically justified as a promising medicinal plant of the Ili Alatau flora.

Research methods and methodology. Botanical characterization, floristic comparative analysis, and systematization of literature sources were used as research methods and methodology. In describing the morphological features of the species, taxonomic works were used as a reference. Additionally, ecological studies of plant communities in the Ile Alatau determined the species’ distribution area and ecological adaptability. When evaluating its medicinal potential, the results of phytochemical and pharmacological studies were comparatively analyzed.

Results and Discussion. The study revealed that Scutellaria sieversii Bunge is a perennial plant
reaching 12–40 cm in height. The root is woody; the main (tap) root spreads along the ground and is branched. The stems are numerous, ascending or erect; sometimes curved or slightly sinuous.
Pubescence is sparse, and in some cases a purple coloration is present only at the base. The leaves are 0.7–3 cm long and 0.3–2 cm wide; triangular-ovate in shape, sometimes elongated. The base is truncate or broadly cuneate, and the apex is slightly pointed.

Conclusion. Scutellaria sieversii Bunge is regarded as a plant of high ecological and bioresource
significance in the flora of the Ile Alatau. Scientific evidence indicates the species’ morphological
stability, ecological adaptability, and potential medicinal properties. However, its chemical
composition and pharmacological activity have not been fully studied. Therefore, S. sieversii may
serve in the future as an important raw material source for the production of new natural medicines and biologically active supplements.
